The weather is beautiful today, the sun is shining & I'm reminded of an old
(but effective) sun display that we used to make back in the days before organic
and
chrome balloon display started to dominate the balloon market:
The 'sun' display above is actually very simple to make and uses the same techniques
that we use in the modern 'balloon hug' display below:
Making the large sun above is actually quite easy. Firstly, you need to do a
'raisin
twist'
at
the
top
of
the
large
yellow
balloon
and inflate with air. Next, make a frame around the large yellow
balloon and this is done by tying one end of an un-inflated 260Q modelling balloon
to the raisin
twist and the other end to the neck.
Repeat this process with another 260Q balloon
and tie this to the neck also. The blue line on the diagram above shows you where
the 260Q's should be positioned and they should be fairly tight.
The white balloons are simply small quads using 5 inch balloons which have been
inflated to 4 inches. We've used 10 x quads in total and these are simply placed
underneath the uninflated 260Q modelling balloons.
Finally, the orange balloons are inflated to 5.5 inches. There are 10 in total
and each is tied individually into the middle of the white quads.
